About Sameer Khan
Sameer Khan is a Los Angeles (Hollywood) based actor of South Asian origin. He was born in Mumbai and was an active member of English Theater and had his own theater group called Motley Monks (Pune). He was also associated with Hindi and Urdu Ekjute Theater Group (Mumbai) of Legendary Theater actress Nadira Babbar, wife of Bollywood actor Raj Babbar.
Sameer Khan was a freelance journalist and contributed to many Indian Newspapers and Magazines such as DNA, Indian Express, Tehelka and Caravan Magazine. He was nominated for the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award for Journalism for his story of Mumbai Jewish Graveyard in 2014 in Caravan Magazine. He is also a published author with 2 fiction books. One short stories collection Spinning Top and Other Stories on Kindle and paperback thriller novel “Lost in the Red Maze” in India.
He moved to the United States where he first started with Stand Up comedy performing regularly at Flappers Club Los Angeles. Since then he has moved on to acting full time, featuring in numerous commercials and short films. He has some amazing web series lined up for premier which will be hitting OTP soon.
Sameer has also been part of the Los Angeles Theater Fraternity. He was part of the hugely popular play “West Bollywood” directed by Kiff Scholl which had a successful run at Matrix Theater Los Angeles. He had a prominent role in the critically acclaimed play “Bismillah” directed by Ani Mardesorian which was part of the Los Angeles Theater Festival 2023.
Sameer Khan had a very productive 2023. He was part of the short film “Eternity” And Theater Production “Bismillah” where he played the role of an Iranian American.
He gave his voice to the play Group Therapy for the role of Pratush directed by Terri Hanaure which ran for a month at Theater 68, North Hollywood. He also plays a prominent role in the upcoming Indian American Production movie “Curry Scent” which is set for release early 2024.
